Trillium is a simple but stylish baby blanket in either 4ply or DK weight yarns.
A simple eyelet pattern forms the main body of the blanket and an edging of garter stitch gives a sturdy, non-curling edge.
The pattern is suitable for a beginner with a little experience or a more experienced knitter looking for some relaxing, easy knitting.
When knitted in a 4ply yarn, Trillium makes a lightweight blanket for folding over little legs or wrapping around baby. In a heavier DK weight yarn, Trillium is a little more substantial for those colder months.
The pattern is written for a blanket of 66 x 73 cm / 26 x 30 inches. There are instructions within the pattern for changing the size if you wish.
To knit the blanket you will need approximately 850 m / 929 yds of yarn for the DK weight blanket and 1092 m / 1192 yds for the 4ply version. The sample here was knitted in Elann soft embrace 4ply.
The stitch pattern is charted as well as written so you can work from whichever you prefer. The pattern and instructions, abbreviations etc. cover 5 pages but the pattern page and chart are on separate pages if you only wish to print these out.
