A simple but striking lace repeat travels the length of this two colour long cowl. The pattern is written for the lighter sections to be slightly longer than the darker ones, adding to the interest, but of course you can knit it any way you like. It would even look good in just one colour or left as a scarf.

Rhombic is knitted flat and seamed into a long cowl which doubles around your neck for extra warmth. Too warm? Leave it looped around your neck singly as an accessory to your outfit.

This cowl is suitable for the advanced beginner to intermediate knitter looking for something with interest. The same lace pattern repeats the whole length of the cowl. The pattern uses directional decreases, K2tog (knit two together) and ssk (slip, slip, knit) and yo (yarn over) increases. Wrong side rows do contain both knit and purl stitches but no actual patterning. The pattern is both written and charted.

Choose your favourite DK weight yarn, one that has a bit of drape would be perfect or choose from the available colours in the suggested yarns; GGH Wollywasch or Blacker Yarns Tamar Lustre Blend.

You will need just two skeins of the Tamar Lustre Blend or 4 balls (2 in each colour) of the GGH Wollywasch.

The pattern is available to download from Love Knitting or Ravelry.
