Little Duffers is the toddler and child version of the Duffers slipper pattern.
Starting at a finished foot length of just 4″ (10 cm) they go up in 1/2″ ( approx. 1 cm) increments to 7 1/2″ (19 cm). As a guide this covers shoe sizes UK 0 to 10 1/2, US 1/2 to 11 and EUR 15 to 28 1/2.
It was very difficult to get exact conversions between shoe sizes and foot length. Shoe sizes are given as a guide only please refer, if you can, to the finished foot length to determine the size you need to make.

The pattern is seven pages long with written instructions for knitting the slippers flat and in the round with a chart of figures which cover all sizes and methods. Each pattern and the chart are on pages of their own so you only need print the pages you want.

I do not give specific instructions on how to knit using magic loop or two circulars so you should be familiar with these methods if you wish to use the seamless version of the pattern, however the flat version is just as quick to knit with only a little seaming needed to finish them off.

Little Duffers pattern is available to buy for £3.50 (plus vat if applicable)

You can download a copy from Ravelry, Love Knitting or Etsy.

  1. Hi, I too love this pattern. I have started my Christmas knitting. Made a pair for my daughter and have a pair started for my husband. Would love to make them for my 1and 3 year old grandsons. Is there a way to convert the patterns I bought or do I need to by the children duffer size also. Thanks so much, you are so talented! Sincerely, Sue

    1. Thanks for your kind comments Sue.
The Little Duffers are different to the adult version in the yarn they use and the foot width opening etc. If you want to play around with the adult sizes you could try a finer yarn and smaller needles but I couldn’t guarantee how they would come out. You would have to knit a few and find the size, fit etc by trial and error. Could be fun though!
      All the best,
      Mindie
