This scarf is named after the Waratah plant, the seed pods of which look so like the lace part of this stitch pattern no other name would have been as suitable.

I have given instructions for three sizes in the pattern. A short scarf for tucking into your coat, a long version which will wrap around your neck and hang down elegantly and also a larger, wider stole version for looking elegant at that bbq when the evenings get chilly.

Written for Rowan Felted Tweed DK, you could substitute any light DK yarn you prefer – just make sure that you have some pure wool in the mix so the scarf blocks well and hangs beautifully.
Available from my website knitpurlmakes.co.uk and as an introductory offer I’m giving 50% off until 31 October 21 with the code WARATAH50
